Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 29, 2026
At FreeDeskPro, accessible from freedeskpro.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors and users. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of information we do and do not collect, and how we handle connection details during your remote desktop sessions.
1. Core Privacy Philosophy: Zero Session Data Collection
FreeDeskPro is engineered on a Privacy by Design architectural principle. Because the Software establishes direct connections between peer devices, we have zero visibility into your remote desktop interactions.
- No Screen Recording: We do not capture, record, or store images or video feeds of your desktop sessions.
- No Keystroke Logging: We do not log, capture, or intercept keyboard inputs, mouse inputs, or touch events.
- No File Snooping: Files transferred between connected systems are sent directly over peer-to-peer links and are never cached or stored on our servers.
- No Chat Storage: Text messages exchanged within an active remote control session are sent directly between the connected peers and vanish immediately when the session ends.
2. How Connection Data is Processed (WebRTC & P2P)
To initiate a connection, FreeDeskPro requires a signaling mechanism. Here is how network data is managed:
Signaling Server: When you enter a remote partner's Device ID to connect, the application communicates with our signaling server to exchange connection parameters (such as IP addresses and open network ports via ICE candidates). This signaling metadata is processed entirely in-memory and is discarded the moment the direct peer-to-peer connection is successfully established. We do not permanently log, record, or track these IP addresses.
End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): All WebRTC traffic is secured using DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security) and SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport Protocol). This ensures that even if signaling data is intercepted, the underlying video, audio, and controls remain encrypted and readable only by the two connected devices.
3. User Credentials & Synchronization
If you register an account to keep track of your remote devices, we collect minimal operational data:
- Email Address: Used strictly for account identification, password resets, and critical software updates.
- Passwords: Passwords are cryptographically hashed and salted before storage, ensuring they cannot be read or decrypted by us.
- Device IDs: We store a directory of your authorized Device IDs and labels so that they sync across your registered machines for quick access.
4. Third-Party Analytics & Services
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. We do not integrate tracking SDKs, ad networks, or user profiling tools inside the FreeDeskPro software. Our website may use lightweight, privacy-focused server analytics (such as counting visitor counts) which do not track individual users across the web.
5. Security of Your Data
The developers and contributors employ commercial-grade security protocols to protect authorization databases and authentication channels. However, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We strongly advise users to employ strong, unique passwords for their accounts and remote connection authenticators, and to never share connection credentials with unauthorized individuals.
6. Compliance with Global Privacy Regulations
Because we process zero personal session data and store only minimal login information with user consent, FreeDeskPro is naturally aligned with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Users have the right to request deletion of their sync accounts at any time, which deletes all database records instantly.
